Do you have the motherboard manual? Check (and double-check) that you have
connected the front panel items to the correct places, and in the correct
orientation. Very often they can be hooked up backwards, off one pin left
or right, etc. And, of course, unless they are all in the correct locations
and orientations they may not do what you would expect them to dol. (In
your case, only the reset switch hookup is clearly suspect...but while you
are in there, check them all.)
