I finally got to try another ATX case, hooked up just the power supply and the power switch, turned the switch on, then hit the power switch and everything okay. Now all I need to do is take everything out of the bad case, return it and put everything back in the new case. At lease my confidence is back. I was beginning to think my skills were now limited to tweaking old 486's so my kids could play Jumpstart.
