Thanks for the site Mike, (I just got back from there) it really explains 
things well, and thanks to all for the responses!! I think I made the right 
choice. I wouldn't use the redundancy and I don't know if I am worried about 
the total performance all that much, but it is a sharp trick to put 
everything IDE on a separate channel.
By the way,the board itself is a great pick. I'm using the 1.4 Thunderbird 
and suddenly Windows really moves!! :)
