Hi, and sorry for your troubles.  Can you borrow another known good boot disk?  Have you tried booting from CD?  Thx, Sam.  Good place to get quick answer is > alt.comp.hardware.pc.homebuilt< newsgroup in Outlook Express--seems like I remember something tricky about "ME".  HTH.  Sam

Subject: From The Screwdriver List: can't boot to bootdisk

Sorry if this is duplicate. Just found address for list.

Good morning all. I have a P11 333, 128 MB RAM, Abit BH6, running WinME  that I built and been running for a long time. I bought a 40 GB HD and it wouldn't get recognized, so flashed my bios w/out error message and 40 GB recognized. However, couldn't get computer now to boot to bootdisk. Pulled it and replaced 6 GB HD, reset bios to recognize, and it wouldn't boot to bootdisk. Replaced floppy, same. Floppy will read and write ok, so assume all is well there. Without boot disk can't reflash old bios to see if that screwed me up, so I'm up a creek, outside of running out and getting new MB. Any help?
