fdisk /mbr This will fix the mbr and then it would be wise to delete the partition and re-create it, just to make sure the disk is clean. A good site for you to peruse would be www.bootdisk.com. There are several utilities there that might be of assistance to you. Scroll down to the Harddrives section and beyond. There are some partition deleting utilities that may help.
