1. Some tests of ISO 8859-2 PDF export on Mandrake 9.1: output files are available under http://www.unet.univie.ac.at/~a8927128/scrib/mdk91-test.tar.gz . In short: ISO 8859-2 diacritics in PDF output get not lost, the wrong kerning after Polish "l stroke" is still there (apart from Luxi). On saving a Scribus document, Polish diacritics are still replaced by ?, although my Polish locales are set correctly.
2.
