ich bin inzwischen begeisterter Linuxanwender, habe aber noch wenig Erfahrung mit "h?rteren Sachen unter der Haube" ;-((. Dennoch habe ich mich durch die Installation von scribus-0.8 hindurchgew?hlt und beim compilieren all' die Schwierigkeiten mit qt und endlosen fehlenden Paketen bei meiner Distribution gel?st. Kann ich nun eigentlich NEBEN dem stabilen Release das aktuellste Betarelease installieren und wenn ja, was ist dabei zu beachten, damit sich die beiden nicht ins Gehege kommen (z.B. das Binary unterschiedlich benennen?)? Nebenbei: Die *.diff-Patches m?ssen doch VOR dem compilieren eingespielt werden, oder geht das auch hinterher ohne erneutes compilieren? vielen dank Michael Hello, meanwhile I'm an enthusiastic user of linux, but I'm not very experienced with the core stuff behind the surface..;-((. Nevertheless I managed installation and compilation of scribus-0.8 though there came out a lot of problems with qt and lots of missing packages with my linux distribution. Now I want more! Is it possible to install an additional beta-release without deinstalling the stable-release? If so, what is to bear in mind to avoid the releases to come into conflict with each other (perhaps I have to rename the binary?)? By the way: The *-diff-Patches have got to be included before any compilation, haven't they? Or do they work without recompilation? thanks a lot Michael
