I read with trepidation the difficulties in mandrake happy to say I compile WITHOUT error and at once scribus 0.9.9 under Suse 8.1 gcc 3.2 the prior 0.9.8 defaults and font paths remain without loss
PS. I still complain the roster of fonts takes up too much space on the screen it is like quark. Better to use a scrolling mechanism like Abi or Word perfect etc. :-) Bart Alberti bart at solozone.com
