There is no file called > .scribusrc either (it was removed post 0.8). There is a directory called > .scribus and a scribus.rc file in there. If you can delete a file called > .scribusrc then there is something amiss.
Sorry, correctly is scribus.rc, not scribusrc as I wrote before. When .scribus.rc file is deleted, anti-aliasing fonts is Ok. Martin
