That might not be all I have to offer. I'm doing some analysis of Scribus as it loads its plugins and libs as shared objects with dlopen(3). My hope is that I can allow Scribus to load its plugins as shared objects, but link to its libs (libpdf, libprefs...) statically. Right now if I configure using --enable-static, then Scribus fails to load its libs. If I configure using --enable-shared, then it segfaults on many operations. So on FreeBSD I lose both ways. I think Solaris might fare better, but I haven't tried there yet. I wonder which platform most people are using, that they don't see these problems as well? After all, Scribus is already past its alpha and beta stages. It reached version 1.0 a while ago. Regards, Michael -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
