[Scribus] Column guides

Would it be possible to have automatic "Column Guides"?  It seems
as if Scribus's margins have a purely visual function, unlike the
margins and columns in most word processors.  Having "Snap to
Margins" and "Snap to Columns" functions will be very handy when
placing objects on pages that don't divide cleanly (e.g. a three
column letter size layout, "8.5 inches / 3 columns = 2.83333").
