Downloaded Scribus source today, Dec. 22 and attempted to compile. ./configure
went well - no outstanding or severe issues reported. then issued the 'make' command. The following error was issued and compilation stopped: charselect.cpp:162: error: `FT_ENCODING_ADOBE_CUSTOM' undeclared (first use this function) charselect.cpp:162: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each function it appears in.) make[4]: *** [charselect.lo] Error 1 make[4]: Leaving directory `/home/Miscellaneous/Packages/scribus-1.2/scribus/plugins/libchar' make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/Miscellaneous/Packages/scribus-1.2/scribus/plugins' make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/Miscellaneous/Packages/scribus-1.2/scribus' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/Miscellaneous/Packages/scribus-1.2' make: *** [all] Error 2 I can give the entire output if that is needed. Is this a known problem?? Does anyubody recognize this error and what caused the error? Does anybody know of a possible solution? I prefer installing from source since most of the time when I attempt RPM (Using RH 8.0 with Kernal 2.4.20) things get put in places that I have no control or knowledge of. Please respond to my email address, since I am not a subsciber to the list. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest --a kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures, and the whole of nature in its beauty." Albert Einstein. And again, time space and causation generally appear inter-related in our consciousness not dependent of one another. So the mind lives, moves and has its existence in these three notions, which are necessarily finite, owing to their perceptional value and without which we cannot think, conceive or imagine anything. Deprived of these three, the constitution of the mind breaks down." Faith in something greater than oneself is tantamount to a veil being withdrawn from the depths and distances glimmering within, and a feeling of eternal hunger for peace and fullness, for all that the distracted world of today denies. It is not possible to discover the Real and abide in it, except by our own experience."
