Thanx very much for you reply. The font is a TTF that is shipped with Win 2000. You can dowload it here http://shanghai-web.tripod.com/simhei.zip Actually that is the only installed font I have that works with my text but may be I should try with a font for simplified Chinese that you know works fine with scribus : could you indicate me one ? My local settings are fr_FR. Does that have an influence ? Thanks again Vlad
