The pdf in the graphic box do NOT cause the performance problems - I deleted them and the messages didn`t appear on next startup. But performance didn`t increase.
Two new ideas: May there be a problem with layer or page-template handling - I use 3 layers and 5 differnt page-templates. Did anybodey experience problems with checkinstall build rpms for scribus? It always worked great for me, but it's a possible source of mistakes, isn`t it?
