I just did a massive overhaul of Fink and installed scribus 1.1.5. I installed
gcc3.3 using the
Apple X11 Aug. 2003 so I could use 10.2-gcc3.3 and switched to the unstable
tree because
I kept wanting the latest versions of stuff. I had a rough time of making this
transition due to
a flaky internet connection and not fully understanding some of the recent
changes to Fink and
its virtual packages, but I finally managed to get all my installed packages
up-to-date. Scribus
seemed to install OK, but when I run scribus now, all the text in the menus is
little boxes
instead of readable letters. Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to
troubleshoot
this?

I already deleted my .scribusfont.rc file and .scribus directory. Before I did
that, scribus
would show its splash screen, then take over my monitor with a white screen and
some gray
stripes (like it was trying to draw the scribus window in full-screen mode but
with no menus),
then I would be logged out. I don't know if anyone is interested in the
.scribus directory that
was causing this. I kept it around just in case.

Below are the packages and versions I have installed that scribus depends on.
I hope I got them all. I upgraded from Scribus 1.1.1.
