i have recently conducted a workshop on manual calligraphy, typography, digital typography, and digital page-design. part of the workshop focussed on scribus. thus, one aspect of the workshop also focussed on migration to gnulinux and setting up graphics-apps under knoppix/debian on hardisk. for scribus, i used the 'getting started...' tutorial, and handed over about 15 different types of assignments for the participants to do. as part of the assignment, the participants have to research into FDL and creativecommons, and submit/publish their designs using scribus, under one of these licenses. thus, scribus would hopefully have more templates and designs to share as well. the process of migrating using knoppix as a hardisk install, upgrading it to debian sid, and customizing it for graphics applications and work, is also being documented by one of the participants. within the next few days this document would also be publicly available under the terms of the FDL. one of them will keep the scribus mailing list updated on developments in this regard. hope this helps. :-) LL
