I export the distribution tarball from the cvs source; move the "scribus/doc" directory outside of the source tree and patch "configure.in" and "scribus/Makefile.am" files before I run the Debian package build. It seems to work very well and does not break anything, i.e. docs become available again if the scribus-doc package is installed, otherwise there are no ill effects. If you'd like to see the patches I'd be happy to provide them. Regards, Alex.
