OK, so it seems Solaris 10 does install GhostScript fonts, probably through the sfw stuff. A pkginfo -l | grep -i ghost shows the Standard and Other fonts installed (but there does not seem to be a Hershey). So, I can try nuking the entire package (both, actually) and see what happens.
