Any chance we can get the [graphics context menu]-->Edit Picture to check for an already running instance of GIMP? Currently, it opens a new instance, creating huge memory problems if using large, full-color, hi-res graphics. It would be much more friendly to edit them in an instance already running (if there is one), saving on the program's memory overhead.
It would be even better if we could define our image editor of choice in the preferences file. There are bound to be people who want to use a different default raster editor than GIMP in their work flow. Maybe I should just go to bugs.scribus.net and file these as feature requests there ... :) -- __ Faster than a speeding slug! I'm Paraplegic Racehorse.
