No, modern PDFs (say one produced by InDesign) are able to put in ligatures and at the same time allow cutting and pasting to work (ligature "ff" will show-up as two "f"s). I think this is done by associating certain text with a graphical-glyph. This is possible but I don't know if PDFlib can do it. Suki
