Hi Nate, assuming, you are a KDE user: there is a very easy way to test the latest Krita -- you may want to give _klik_ a go. This is a static build of Krita and all the needed libraries which will be installed on your desktop and can be easily removed with one click, so you don't have to care about any damagaes to your system (it's very similar to apple's .dmg builds).
