Not knowing my printer's workflow, last time I made artwork of a small packaging box for a product, and sent them a pdf/x-3 file output from Scribus 1.3.3.2. No problem and no complaints from them. I received the box and the result was amazing indeed. Am I lucky? :) Thanks to Scribus team.
