For headers/footers you'd use master pages (found from edit->master pages) for
a page numbering insert a text frame to a master page and use the keyboard
shortcut or the menu item insert->text->page number to insert a pagenumber to
the text frame. Text frame needs to be in the edit mode for this. Then just
apply this master page to your actual document pages.
