After installing Dapper I deleted that folder! I thought it was > just samples of stuff I wasn't interested in. 1) So you did:
sudo rm -r /usr/share/example-content 2) Or did you: sudo rm -r /etc/skel/Examples respectively: rm /home/yourusername/Examples The first has deleted the files The second one only the link from /etc/skel/Examples to the files in /usr/share/example-content So if you only deleted the link a: sudo ln -s /usr/share/example-content /etc/skel/Examples respectively: ln -s /usr/share/example-content /home/yourusername/Examples should give back the content again. NB. You better had removed the example-contents packet if your intention was to remove the files ;-) But don't worry you can have it back by reinstallation of example-content in synaptic if you really deleted the files. > > I found this reference to it: > > http://www.phptr.com/bookstore/product.asp?isbn=0132435942&rl=1#info3 > > Was the file the whole book? Hhm, I may agree for a private use at home but for an office I would pledge for having the book. And not to forget the book makes some money for Ubuntu people, at least for the authors (who are active motu's). regards, thomas
