[Scribus] opening sla documents-pictures missing

Fairly new to Scribus...
I've been working on Scribus through Cygwin on windows. Now I want to 
open those documents in Scribus on Linux,
but the documents open without the pictures. How do I go about this?
I've also tried the version Scribus for winXP, but have the same problem 
there.
