In the particular case of 1.3.4 there are apparently important advances in the handling of text. That aspect is the major weak point of Scribus IMNSHO. So I upgraded. In similar fashion, any future version of Gimp which has facilities for CMYK output will be installed here, since that is the major shortcoming of that program. I only upgrade TeX when the annual TeXLive distro comes out. Any attempt to stay au courant with each change to e.g, pdftex and/or Context is again IMNSHO more trouble than it is worth. I upgrade Slackware 11 when numbered releases are made. Upgrading Slackware is a bit of a bear, so I am not always anxious to be the one by whom the new is tried. -- John Culleton Able Indexing and Typesetting Precision typesetting (tm) at reasonable cost.
