As I handle the releases, I have thought about this and its not as useful as it seems for several reasons: We would need to host a tracker and with the different platforms arches (32 and 64 bit) there would be quite a few different versions. We also do updates in between releases with svn snapshots to help users get the latest bug fixes. Using a torrent takes away the ability to use native packaging on Linux. It is much preferred to for example use the native package managers on Ubuntu/Debian/Suse/Fedora etc, as they not only handle the install, but also resolve and install dependencies. They also frequently have a mechanism to automatically give notice a new version is available. Where a torrent does make sense is when we have a live DTP CD/DVD which features Scribus and friends.
