One thing you could do is export the OO document as PDF (or maybe some other
format such as LaTex) and then include it in your Scribus document. This may
not meet your needs, but is a suggestion.

Hi
  i have here a similar problem..
I am trying to insert an odt formatted text to a text frame.
when its inserted however it loses all the italics. Might the problem be
with the font?

About vectors.. i think increasing the compatibility with inkscape svg files
properties should be in the scribus to do list;

cheers.
