I have a large document created in 1.3.5svn before bug 8114 was fixed: http://bugs.scribus.net/view.php?id=8114
Unfortunately, the problem continues with this document because the fix for the above bug requires that a new document with all new objects be created using a later version of Scribus. The fix cannot repair previously created documents. My document is very large and it would be many days of work to recreate it from scratch. The problem has not appeared for some time, but just now I discovered that selecting one particular text frame on page 15 selects all objects from page 1 as well. I cannot delete the offending text frame without deleting all the other objects as well. In other words, there is no way to select just the offending frame. I tried all the obvious things - doing a Save As, closing Scribus and restarting it, even rebooting the computer, but selecting that particular text frame still selects all objects on pages 1 through 15. Also note that I must select the frame by lasso-selecting it; clicking on it with the mouse selects nothing. I am wondering if there is a way to edit something in the xml file that might be causing this unwanted behavior. Or even if I can delete the frame in the xml file I would have a workaround. I have the text in a separate OOo file, so recreating the frame would be trivial. Or maybe there is another way to select the frame other than clicking on it or lasso-selecting it? Suggestions welcome!
