Closed source development is different in nature to open source development. We can have the same degree of change that exists between Vista and Windows 7, but it won't be in one leap, but rather in little steps over time. I never denied that Windows 7 was great (or at least very good). Indeed, I said nothing about whether Windows 7 was good or bad. The only disadvantage I mentioned (as an unfortunate aside) was that you have to pay for the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7. Whether the latest KDE is good or great, I'll leave to others to decide for themselves.
