This is what I was trying to suggest. If you have the profiles from the 
images, that will make the biggest difference in the quality of your 
output on a local printer, and it is generally recommended to use the 
Screen/Web setting for a PDF to be printed on a local printer.

If you were going to use a commercial printer, one of the first things 
to ask is what sort of colorspace he would like to have or could deal with.
