All I needed an image to be covered by an opaque to transparent gradient (rectangle shape with linear gradient: white with alpha 100 to white with alpha 0) but when exported (preflight does not show any error) I could not get the image to show underneath - instead the white square was full white (hiding the picture). I tried PDF 1.3 1.4 and 1.5 I quickly used an exported png as a workaround - that worked ok, but I'm not sure what I did wrong. Using Fedora 11 1.3.3.13
