I have been using Slackware for more than a decade and have done all the magic wand-waving to make svn 1.3.5 work. I just recreate from scratch each time. I don't have such good luck with Inkscape 47 pre. So I looked at other distros. In my distro shopping tour for Inkscape I discovered an undersized Slackware derivative called Vector-Linux which is essentially Slack 12.1 with the XFCE gui instead of the default KDE. This might be skinny enough to run on a Win-95 machine with 64MB but Scribus would run like a turtle stuck in a tar pit. With a no-os Systemax computer available from Tiger Direct for under $300 I don't think this Win 95 machine exercise is worth much time and effort. Silk purse from sows ear and all that. -- John Culleton "Create Book Covers with Scribus" http://www.booklocker.com/books/4055.html
