[scribus] linking text frames

Ken,
I tried your second method, clicking one frame, then the other, then the button 
and it 
didn't link the frames. I then clicked the first frame and it linked the frames 
but with 
the start of the text in the second frame.
That's with Scribus 1.3.8 on Windows 7 x64.
