no, there are not. depending on the needs there may be development snapshots, when the code is not stable yet but ok to be used. mostly for windows. sometimes for os x or linux, too. currently, 1.5svn is running well, but there are several edges and we are waiting for bigger changes... so you should not rely on it for productive work! therefore: no snapshots! currently, the team is asking the users to test the 1.3.8 version and help make it the award winning scribus 1.4 stable release. you should probably focus on that version. finally, all releases are packaged as .dmg, but there were no release yet for the 1.5.x tree. ciao a.l.e ps.: and to test 1.5svn the best choice is to compile it yourself... it's really not that hard on linux! (and it's really not that hard to install linux, either)
