Moi aussi, except I went from Ubuntu to Fedora a year ago. When 1.3.9 did not appear in the repositories soon enough for me I found that it was in updates-testing repository. So I just did "yum --enablerepo=updates-testing install scribus" and it enabled the updates-testing repository just for getting and installing the 1.3.9 RPM package. Most new releases go immediately into updates-testing, so I can grab things right away if I am not concerned about waiting for Fedora's seal of approval.
