I have removed all the Scribus installs I had and have installed 1.3.3.13svn and I have working Tooltips. It definetly is not as pretty as 1.5.0 is. I was wrong tho, the 1.3.8 version came from getdeb and not a Ubuntu repo. I still have a little QT4 reliant stuff on board which I will remove and start over again. My TeXworks still has blank Tooltips. Thanks for your input, it is much appreciated. take care keith -- Using Opera's revolutionary email client: http://www.opera.com/mail/
