I understand but in my case I choose another method. If I can't create PDF X/1-a I can't do production work. The lack is a deal-breaker. Thus far 1.5.0 has been a usable product for me. In fact instead of updating it nightly I may go to a weekly update, and save the current working version so that if by chance the newest version is not usable I will have a fall-back. I compiled my first program late in life, in 1968. So compilation does not terrify me.
