hi edward, on os x 10.4 you have to install scribus-ng through fink.
please have a look in the archives of the scribus mailing list to find out how to do it. ... or come back to me if you can't find it. i plan to create a dmg for the future stable release 1.4 as soon as it gets out. ciao a.l.e
