Other programs usually place text row by row, but Scribus place it glyph by glyph to keep full control of placement. That's what makes Scribus generated PDFs so big. (So one can wonder why Scribus even has the option to make linked text frames into PDF stories, because braille or speach readers fail anyway becuase of the glyph by glyph placement...) /Peter
