[scribus] Newbie: how to draw borders around objects

Hi,
I'm using scribus on Windows XP. I've successfully created images 
frames, text boxes and shapes. I can draw a solid line around a shape by 
using Properties, Line, and selecting a line style and width, but I 
can't seem to do this for text and images - the Line properties seem 
seem to be ignored. Thanks in advance,
