I say that because in that version and earlier versions you had to put two page numbers on the master page if your pages were going to be greater than 9. In later versions this was fixed so it needs only one page number field on the master page, regardless of how many pages your document has. As for the other problem, I can't help, as I haven't used 1.3.3.14 in a long time and don't even have it installed any more. A lot of people (me included) are using the latest development version 1.3.8, even though it is not officially recommended for production work. The next stable release will be 1.4, which will likely be released early next year, so 1.3.8 is very close to the final version. In fact, the release of 1.3.9 is imminent. In 1.3.8 I can apply the master page to a document page, then just click on the document page to view it. There is no need to restart Scribus.
