I have been reading this thread with interest. I have just started to use Scibus to produce a small newsletter (8 to 16 pages). My first issue is 8 pages, containing a total of 23 photos, of various sizes. Initially the the size of the PDF created was about 39Mb with the following PDF settings: PDF 1.5, with Profile "Optimized for Screen/Web", Image resolution limit of 300dpi. When I change the Image resolution limit to 72dpi, the size of the PDF is reduced to 1.8Mb, a reduction over 20 times. Dave Copeland.
