That's weird. I also have 1.3.9 from the repositories on Fedora 14 x86_64, and the Compose key does not work in either environment. But Ctrl-Shift-u + Unicode number works in both places. However, I do not have a Brazilian keyboard enabled. Still, a strange collection of varying results. I don't generally need special characters in Scribus because I create all my text in OOo. And hopefully the release of 1.4.0 will resolve all issues and bring world peace.
