You certainly can type those characters in Scribus, but how to do it depends on the version of Scribus and your operating system. You didn't say what OS you use, but your e-mail was in iso-8859-1, which makes me guess some flavor of Windows. If so, one easy way to do it is to add an Irish (Gaelic) keyboard and switch to it when writing in Gaelic. The Gaelic keyboard will make a key into a "dead key" (probably the apostrophe). To type the ?, for example, you type the apostrophe, after which nothing appears on screen (because it's "dead"), and then a regular a. There are other ways to do it as well, but I am not an expert on Windows, so I'll defer to someone else on the list to offer more possibilities. You should, however, reply with specifics as to the version of Scribus and your operating system.
