Similar, yes, but not quite the same.  I like the idea of being able to "remove 
unused" and "import list from another document", but doesn't seem very feasible 
with the current implementation - Font management within Scribus (silly to say 
the least, as Scribus is a layout application, not a font manager) cannot be 
done while a document is open.  I don't mind the long list of fonts under 
Available Fonts - it's actually nice to have the option of selecting any font 
that Scribus knows about.  The problem is that it's currently very tedious for 
enabling/disabling large quantities of fonts in the list.  My suggestion would 
alleviate this until a better longterm solution (such has having Scribus use 
only INSTALLED fonts instead of ALL fonts) could be implemented.
