When I had difficulties with getting a family newsletter created as a PDF (missing images and many of the text frames), the lists members suggested that I update Scribus & Adobe PDF. I went up to the next Scribus, 1.3.9, and from Adobe PDF 9 to X.
SO MUCH EASIER! Problems that weren't clear before became apparent, fixing them an almost breeze, and the PDF document was created immediately with every thing in place.
