[scribus] text edit problems

I've been using Scribus fine on Windows; I've now switched to Ubuntu and my 
text editor keeps disabling itself. I don't think I've pressed anything 
untoward! I'll click on a text frame one moment and can either use the 
properties box to edit the text or the text edit box, and then the next moment 
I can't. I haven't found this in the reported bugs, but that's probably my 
searching quality.
