Hi All I requested help with 'HotLinks' (ie jump to other pages) in Vol 42, Issue 14 of this list.
At the time I had put this down to my change from Scribus 1.3 series to 1.4 series. I have now been looking into this in a bit more depth and have discovered that this was ALSO the time I "found" the script using 'pstops' and 'ps2pdf' to reduce the size of the "Scribus PDF" file. And when I found how well this worked I went back and reduced the size of ALL my old publication files!! And this - it seems - is the cause of my problem!!! (Apologies to the Scribus Team!!) SO - My question now becomes.... Is there any OTHER way to reduce the size of the Scribus PDF file WITHOUT the loss of the HotLinks?? Greg asked which version of PDF I use - I convert to PDF 1.3. Another member suggested it was a loss of Metadata during the reduction but don't know about this. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated as I really need to get this going again in my publication as it 'automates' my content page. Thanks a lot guys. PS - I also asked about Aspel not finding errors but got no replies - any ideas please???!!! Ian Whitfield Pretoria
