Actually, yes, he did. The very first line of his message, in fact:

That means that he is using scribus 1.4.1 on an Ubuntu 12.04 machine (Precise
Pangolin is the Ubuntu code name for version 12.04, and sometimes the Ubuntu
code name gets shortened to the first word of the code name, so "ubuntu
(precise) machine" means "ubuntu 12.04 machine"; for future reference, the code
name for 12.10 is Quantal Quetzal, which will very likely be shortened to
quantal in common usage).
